Virtual Offices are places that allow you to share space and instead of renting office space for yourself. Virtual offices rent office space, boardrooms, conference rooms by the hour, ½ day, day. They also have reception, mail and fax service.

You are assigned a telephone number that becomes your personal business phone no. When they answer the phone they answer as if you have a receptionist and they provide an address for your mail to be delivered. It gives you the professionalism without the cost of paying wages and rent.

GST and the Small Business Owner

Hi Peoples

I would like to suggest that if you are a small business not making the required $30,000.00 to register that you rethink your options.

I recently took the cra's GST/PST seminar and I found a whole bunch of interesting information. If you are collecting GST you can ask for a refund of the GST you pay on items that you buy for your business. So there is a possibility that you could receive a refund. For example, you collected $100.00 in GST from your clients/customers and you purchased items and the amount of GST you paid out was $200.00 you would be entitled to a rebate of $100.00 or if you paid $50.00 you would just have to submit $50.00. Either way it is found money.

The bad news is that there are a few business that are not allowed to collect GST so you won't be able to get the refund. For more information you can e-mail or go to the Revenue Canada website at www.cra-grc.ca

THERE ARE PAYMENT ALTERNATIVES, FOR EXAMPLE, PAY PAL, INTERACT EMAIL MONEY TRANSFERS ARE TWO OF THE MOST COST EFFECT WAYS TO ACCEPT MONEY OTHER THAN CASH OR MONEY ORDER.

YOU CAN GET A BASIC PAY PAL ACCOUNT FOR FREE AND THEY ALLOW YOU TO ACCEPT MOST MAJOR CREDIT CARDS WITH A SMALL FEE PER TRANSACTION. MUCH CHEAPER THAN HAVING TO SET UP A MERCHANT ACCOUNT WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE THE MONEY. THE ALSO HAVE A BASIC SHOPPING CART THAT YOU CAN LINK SO THAT YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN SHOP FROM YOUR SITE AND BE DIRECTED TO PAYPAL. YOUR CUSTOMER DOES NOT NEED A PAY PAL ACCOUNT TO USE PAY PAL TO PAY FOR YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE.

BECAUSE I PREFER CASH TO ANYTHING THIS OPTION IS MY FAVORITE,INTERACT EMAIL MONEY TRANSFER. THIS IS DONE THROUGH THE ONLINE BANKING FEATURES OF ALL BANKS WITH NO CHARGE OR MINIMAL CHARGE FOR RECEIVING PAYMENTS. YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR BANK FOR THEIR SERVICES CHARGES. THERE MAY BE A CHARGE FROM THE BANK TO SEND THE MONEY. FOR MORE INFORAMTION YOU CAN CHECK THIS OUT IN THE ONLINE BANKING INFORMATION UNDER INTERACT EMAIL MONEY TRANSFER.
